Irving

If I had to choose between Edgar Allan Poe or Irving, I would have to pick Irving. I liked the Devil and Tom Walker story, alot more than any of Poe's work so far. Thats not to say whether my opinion may change but that is where I stand today.

The problem I have with Poe is that he writes realistically but in his stories he sometimes becomes impossible to understand, or adds things that couldn't possibly happen. Irving writes fiction, and keeps it fiction. We all know this story isn't true, but nevertheless it is very good.
